Reinvigorating New Jersey's Economy

Tim Lizura, Senior Vice President, Business Development, EDA, will discuss the newly enacted New Jersey Stimulus Act as well as an update on EDA's Main Street Business Assistance Program.

Urban Transit Hub Tax Credits - expands definition to encompass light rail stations, includes residential projects and decreases capital investment thresholds.

Net Operating Loss Program - increases lifetime benefit, carryover, eligibility, and employee requirement.

Coming Soon - Economic Redevelopment and Growth (ERG) Grant launching in November - this program replaces the Revenue Allocation District (RAD) program and allows for the financing of redevelopment through revenues derived from the site's redevelopment, such as sales & business taxes.

Recovery and Reinvestment Act - Recovery Zone Bonds

Margie Piliere, Director, Business Development North, EDA and Laura Wallick, Director, Business Development South, EDA, will discuss the new Recovery Zone Bonds.

Recovery Zone Economic Development Bonds - provide funding for capital expenditures incurred with respect to a recovery zone property project including public infrastructure, the construction of public facilities, education and job training.

Recovery Zone Facility Bonds - provide funding for private commercial qualified businesses in a designated recovery zone.
